NYFW 2015

Hi Darlings,

Last week was Fashion Week here in freezing NYC.  Due to my being a scrote* (see footnote), getting a cold and having to stay in bed all week, I sent my intrepid photographer Denton Taylor out on the scene to photograph some of the looks wafting around Lincoln Centre. This week I've selected some of my favourite looks from the fashionistas braving the cold. Enjoy!

#7 Simple, adorable, and another great hat

Hey Fashionistas,

This week I am taking the bold step and wearing a vintage fur (she ducks the paint can). I know some of you will be angry at this, but I would like to say in my defense that this fur is from the 1940's - that animal has been dead for 70 years. I would never buy new fur, but vintage fur gets my vote.

On another note, please enjoy this fabulous vintage coat previously seen here, I hope you like the post!

Go Shopping In Your Own Closet

Hi Fashion Kids,

This week we are all about reusing and recycling. Every post this week will feature a piece of clothing you have seen somewhere before in this blog, but worn in a new way. Last night at dinner with some fabulous lady friends the phrase "go shopping in your own closet" was mentioned (thanks D) and I thought that was a great idea for this week's posts.

Last Of Lili

Hello Darlings,

Happy Friday. Here is my last post from the party town of New Orleans. Today I'm wearing a 1950's dress with a 20's purse. So darling. Also check out the cool New York Times article I've added at the end where you can see another Lili Vintage dress worn by NYC "It" Girl Cleo Wade, a regular shopper at Lili. She's absolutely gorgeous and such a fashionista. Enjoy!

Lili Vintage #2

Hi Darlings!

Happy Wednesday to you all and what a happy day it is for me as yesterday I was given my Green Card! America, there is no getting rid of this little ex-pat.

Here is a fabulous coat and dress combo from Lili Vintage - the perfect outfit for swanning around in my new homeland.

(BTW I told an American friend of mine that I was "swanning" around town and he hadn't heard of that expression. Is it exclusively an English turn of phrase? Or perhaps Americans don't swan? Answers on a postcard to the usual address)

Lili Vintage

Hi Darlings,

This week I want to introduce you to the most fabulous vintage store in New Orleans Lili Vintage.

A chic and well curated little boutique on Magazine Street run by the charming and delightful Laura. Not only was her collection stellar, but her prices made this travelling showgirl very happy too. This week I am going to showcase some looks I put together from Lili. All this week's photos (unless otherwise stated) were shot by the wonderful NOLA based photographer Bryce Ell - check out his work here.

Thanks Laura and Bryce. I can't wait to come back soon!
