Tutu Cute

Hi Darlings,

It's friday, yay we all made it! Okay, the last look of the week and I have to give another shout out to my very generous friend Debra for gifting me this fabulous skirt from Lilith in Soho.

Here we are, #threewaystowear (actually three and a half but who's counting?)

Love,

Ruthie Darling xoxo

#1 Go against the cuteness of the skirt with an ironic t-shirt, biker jacket and vintage boots

#2 Throw on a denim shirt and knot it at the waist to play up the fifties feel

#3 Go with the tutu feel with a leotard and a scarf tied in the hair

Look One: Leather Jacket: Topshop, T-Shirt: Etsy, Scarf: Zara ( a gift from Sal!), Boots: Vintage
Look Two: Shirt: Forever 21, Shoes: Vintage

China Doll

Hi Fashion Darlings,

Happy Wednesday! Looking out of my window onto glorious Greenwich Village I can see that it's another beautiful, if freezing, day here in NYC.

In today's post I dress up a sweet little chinese dress that I picked up at an underground market in Pudong, Shanghai. Here it is:

Enjoy!

RD xoxo

#1 Wear with a leather jacket and some crazy two-tone "flatforms" - these shoes are very big in London right now which means they will be hitting our shores soon USA.

#2 Throw over a bright vintage coat (this one is from the 40's) and belt it with a vintage belt, add some vintage booties too to dress it down a little.

(It's advisable to iron a jacket like this before use and tie your shoelaces - do as I say not as I do children)

#3 Embrace the chinese theme and add some chinese ballet shoes (these I picked up at another market, this time in Huangpu, Shanghai - near the oldest part of the city in case you're interested). Finish with an avant garde belt.

Look One: Leather Jacket: Topshop, Flatforms: Primark, Tights: Henry Holland
Look Two: Jacket, Belt, Shoes: Vintage
Look Three: Belt Asos

Check Please!

Hi Darlings,

Last week my other half and I had some dear friends over for dinner at our apartment and they brought with them a bag of gifts (always welcome!) In this veritable bag of designer tricks was this fabulous Jean Paul Gaultier coat - thank you Debra! With some help from my mother aka Sal, (streetname: "Mum MBE") we've designed three ways to wear.

Enjoy darlings!

RD xoxo

#1 Wear buttoned and belted and let the coat do the talking. Highlight the sexy accents of the coat by wearing with black leather pants and a peek-a-boo shirt

#2 Throw the coat over a leopard print 1940's wiggle dress and finish off with a vintage hat and some Louboutins! Unleash the inner vixen.

#3 Go for a more casual look with polka dot jeans (any would do) and a sweater in a complimentary colour. A perfect brunch outfit (if you want to make the entire restaurant look at you that is.....you do... you know you do ;)

Outfit one: Pants: Zara, Shirt and Boots: Necessary Clothing
Outfit two: Dress and hat: Vintage, Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Outfit three: Jeans: H&M, Sweater: Primark, Shoes: Zara

Sari Not Sari

Hi Darlings,

It's been a busy week so I've been a little delayed in posting these. Last week I picked up this sweet little dress, which is actually half of an indian suit, at the Goodwill on 8th street for $10. I immediately skyped Sal and we began plotting our "three ways to wear". This week we shot the three looks that we came up with.

On a side note, when I called she was in the middle of cooking a christmas pudding for my brother who was over for lunch. Christmas Pudding in March. #hatersgonerhate #rulebreaker #specialoffer

Enjoy!

#1 Wear with jewel-toned shoes and beehive for a sixties feel

#2 Wear over jeans and sneakers for a more daytime I-just-returned-from-Bali look

#3 Layer different textures and prints for an ethnic feel and pile on the jewelry - the bigger the better!

Look One: Dress: Goodwill, Shoes: Manolo Blahnik, Jewelry and Tattoo: Primark
Look Two: Jeans: River Island, Sneakers and Bag: Primark
Look Three: Jacket: River Island, Skirt: A gift from the delightful Debra!! Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Prints Charming

Hi Fashion Kids,

It's Friday and the sun is a-shining in Manhattan. Here's my final look of the week with Sal's Three Ways To Wear. Have a great weekend, the spring is finally here - eat, drink and get into lots of trouble!

Love,

Sal's Three Way's To Wear:

#1. Add a Frida Kahlo type flower headress in yellow or black/ heeled ankle boots/ black shawl tied loosely across shoulders

#2. Add wide belt in a contrasting colour - red would be good and cropped black jacket for smart look

#3. Opaque tights / statement bag in a contrasting colour to dress  - try emerald green  and add matching shoes
